In fact, when people watch a science program on TV, they learn more scientific facts from that program than they learn in class. In “A Corpus Driven Study of the Potential for Vocabulary Learning through Watching Movies,” Webb points out that individuals will begin to learn more vocabulary after watching many movies over a long period (497). For example, I have absorbed many skills and knowledge from the Internet and TV programs that have expanded my vocabulary, improved my English listening, and familiarized me with the cultures and geographic information of many countries around the world. Additionally, one of my Indian friends learned Arabic by spending time with us and listening to the native Arabic dialect through the colloquial form. As we know, children learn many skills from their parents such as language and activities. Sometimes children imitate their parents' actions and try to be like them. Also, some children love their cousins and follow what their cousins tell them, and children sometimes try to wear similar clothes or get the same haircut as their cousins.
