During English 1101, I never really critiqued someone's essay like I did in English 1102. English 1102 taught me how to properly review someone's essay by checking their citations in the text with their work cited page and more. I've also learned not to just state "good job" or "needs improvement" but to explain how someone can improve their article without being harsh. Having learned how to properly do peer reviews, I now know what to look for in my essay before submitting the final draft. Overall, English 1101 and 1102 took me out of my comfort zone when writing. I have learned that it is easier to choose an essay topic that I can relate to to make writing my essay easier. The way I write no longer gets to the point, but I take the time to analyze my points with proper evidence. I also started using the resources provided by the library instead of just Googling all my evidence. English 1101 and 1102 prepared me not only to write good essays, but showed me how to properly write an excellent paper.Portfolio
