Anticipation Set First ask students to brainstorm what they think of when they think of the month of March (e.g. windy, cold, St. Patrick's Day, lambs, lions , etc.). Then allow a few students to share their thoughts, explaining that March is known as the month that enters like a lion and leaves like a lamb. Read the story “Come in like a lion, out like a lamb” by Marion Dane Bauer. Ask students thorough questions once the story is finished. Draw a line down the center of the board; write lion and lamb at the top of both sides of the line. Together with the class, find words that describe a lion. Write these words on the board under the lion (i.e. angry, mad, big, brave, fierce, strong, etc.). Do the same with the lamb (i.e. shy, quiet, gentle, friendly, etc.). The educator must write down the words (on paper) in case a student is unable to complete the activity. Inform the class that they will be writing a multiple paragraph
