Have you ever done something you will regret for the rest of your life? Killing someone is considered the worst crime of humanity, but planning to kill someone is simply evil. Macbeth in Shakespeare's play, who was a loyal, brave and honorable knight, protected his king from a traitor. His wife, Lady Macbeth, is a stronger, more dominant character in the relationship with Macbeth. She is also a horrible woman, who influences her husband into committing murder by insulting and criticizing him. After a successful plan to kill King Duncan, Macbeth quickly went on to kill more people who could get in his way, even his best friend and family. When a person commits a crime, they feel guilty about something they have done. They will lose control of their mind, likely commit more crimes, and live a life of fear and hide their sins. Shakespeare reveals his messages in three different concrete symbols throughout the text of the play; they are the candle, the crown and the dagger. These symbols appear in different times and forms, but they are linked to each other and represent Shakespeare's message, the sense of guilt. Lady Macbeth is satisfied with becoming queen but cannot free herself from what she has done. Lady Macbeth is convinced that if her plan succeeds, she will live a happy life and forget the past. Things don't seem to be going well for her; he is dealing with its consequences, the battle between his mind and his evil heart. On the other hand, his wickedness is revealed through his actions and words. The candle gives light to reveal things in the darkness. When Lady Macbeth holds the candle as she walks in her sleep, she begins to speak and sees blood on her hand: “Here is the smell of blood again. Everything... the central part of the paper... uses three different concrete symbols, gives them a meaning but when he puts them together, they work together to represent another deeper meaning, a message that the author wants to convey to the readers, sense of guilt. Shakespeare works on the human mind and shows the fear of guilt in his characters. The candle means that Lady Macbeth is afraid of the dark. On the other hand, he is afraid of what he has done, not allowing his mind to sleep, but confessing his sins while sleeping. The crown represents Macbeth's guilt. To reach the top he must cheat, kill King Duncan, his best friend and Macduff's innocent family. Macbeth is lost, he will continue to commit more murders to keep his crown. He must live with fear to protect his life because no king is safe. The dagger illustrates Macbeth's evil thoughts. His vision and mind are blinded by the effect of guilt.
