IntroductionThe One World Trade Center (WTC) is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, measuring 1,776 feet tall. Built production sets new standards in design, construction and prestige. Its beauty in the magical New York skyline makes it an icon. It is the most recognized and desirable office address in the world. In this essay I intend to argue that the social, political and economic status of society has considerably influenced, positively, the production of this building. Making the building one of the best skyscrapers in the world. First I will provide a brief chronology of events starting from the collapse of the first WTC until the construction of the new WTC. I will examine the political effects on construction followed by the social and economic ones. In conclusion I will say how and to what extent all these problems have affected building production. On September 11, 2001, a catastrophic terrorist attack occurred that destroyed the Twin Towers of the WTC. From 2001 to 2014, the reconstruction of the World Trade Center produced pain, sweat and politics. In 2001, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation was formed to organize the reconstruction of the World Trade Center. In 2002, the first plans for the WTC site were produced and displayed to the public. They were all rejected because they were not stimulants. That same year, a competition was organized for architects from around the world to submit designs for the site. In 2003 David Childs was selected to design the WTC formally known as FreedomTower. Daniel Libeskind designs the site master plan and initial design of One WTC. At the end of 2003, plans for the building were revealed. In 2004, Mayor Michael Bloomberg placed a 20-ton granite slab in the center of the paper. In conclusion, the designers and builders of the tower building have an undesirable job: to create a building that is functional, modern, sustainable and unique. At the same time it honors the memory of the people who died in and around the buildings that stood there before. While environmentally friendly features have been criticized for being too expensive, they will do more than just save water, electricity and emissions. They and the building's grace will inspire a generation of green and safe skyscrapers for the twenty-first century. This building has become one of the safest, most environmentally friendly and expensive buildings ever built, but as critics criticize the building for various reasons, there is no denying the determination through the political, social and economic status with which designers and workers they created such a beautiful building with great meaning.
