All organizations in the world should have a standard to uphold, whether it is a code of conduct, a standard of living, or a standard of appearance. Having standards gives value to an organization and instills a sense of pride in the individuals who are part of the organization so that they show pride in everything they do. It is important to maintain a high sense of pride in the organization's standards because being proud will help increase the confidence of the organization as a whole and will make team members tackle each task with strength and motivation. These qualities can help any organization achieve any goal, and they will look good while doing it. Not only do organizations like the Army have a standard code of conduct, they also have a strict uniform policy. The US Army uniforms show a sense of uniformity, are a means of protection, and also show tradition. The new military service uniform is rooted in tradition. In March 1778, a congressional resolution directed General George Washington to prescribe a service uniform. The resolution "authorized and directed the Commander in Chief, according to the circumstances of the Clothing supplies, to fix and prescribe the uniform, both as regards the color and facings, and the fashionable cut of the Dresses to be worn by the troops of the respective States and regiments." General Washington issued a general order in October 1779 "prescribing blue coats with different facings for the various state troops, artillery, artillery men, and light dragoons. The Office of the Adjutant and Inspector General, March 27, 1821 He established "Dark blue is the national color. When a different one is not expressly prescribed, all uniforms, both for officers and enlisted...... middle of paper ......k high speed. This also gives the perception that they really care about how they represent the military; and of course in the military perception is reality. I've learned when people go the extra mile in front of the sergeants and make it look like they know what they're doing even if they don't know the sergeants perceive it as a good thing. As long as the soldiers let the sergeants see only what seems like good things, they will get far. As an individual I usually say openly that I am who I am and don't hide anything, but I may need to adapt to the military way of being "high speed". The moral of the story is simply sleep in. the whole damn uniform, so if you have a bad day and wake up late or feel terrible you'll already be dressed; so you will appear to be at high speed…. This means you are at high speed, because perception is reality. Reality is perception.
