We selected the topic, the Paterson Silk Strike of 1913 because we wanted to learn about the city we live in, Paterson. We thought about how extremely different the working environment back then was from today. We both thought it would be nice to learn about the history of our city. So we started researching the topic and committed ourselves to learning about it. Overall our topic was very interesting. We were interested when we first heard about the topic. During our research, we found many resources such as news articles from the time that showed who the strikers were and their survival. We also found a poster for the Paterson Silk Strike competition. He would also tell us about image transitions and the like while we were shooting and editing our documentary. Making the documentary was a bit of a challenge because we had trouble finding enough entertaining information for our audience. The silk workers demanded and, with the help of the IWW, attempted to resolve the conflict but failed.
