For this project, I decided to inform me about the relationships between two different aspects of learning; Quantum Mechanics and Biology and how much society has been enlightened on this branch of knowledge. I solved this research as my project because, despite living in a modern era of technology and life, our understanding of life and the world around us or beyond us must be nurtured to create an intelligent and developed civilization in future. I developed this project within this specific community of MJSC Balik Pulau because I want all members of the school and my peers to be able to learn, at least have an overview of this topic. This personal project, which I am developing, is related to the Global Context: "Identity and Relationships" because this The global context can lead us to the following question: how can quantum mechanics and biology be related to each other? This question or problem can lead us to a completely new exploration and understanding of how these elements of quantum mechanics can play a huge role in sustaining the life of biological organisms like us; how Quantum Mechanics is giving identities to the particle-particle in this world, functions and behaves; what are the impacts of Quantum Biology in our lives; how we can improve our lifestyle and progress within this knowledge. With this project I can bring this company; indirectly to develop a new way of thinking in the community. To meet the expectations of my supervisor and myself, the coordinators and every single person involved; directly or indirectly in this project, I have to overcome all obstacles and difficulties that appear in the process of carrying out this project, follow the order and advice of experts and others etc. This will all be explained later in this report. For me, MYP Personal Project is a self-conducted project by students based on their interests or things they like. This project will evaluate various skills such as research skills or some other skill itself. This project also allowed students to brainstorm outside the box because they have to choose a global context that can be related orsynchronized with the chosen topic. This project can also lead to the next step of improvisation of a person or a society to develop a new culture of life and can also bring a spark of impact in modern knowledge nowadays. Criterion A: Investigate prior learning In Physics , I had learned that all macroscopic objects, even human beings themselves move and interact with each other obeying the principle called Classical Mechanics or sometimes referred to as "Newtonian Mechanics" which was proposed and recognized by Sir Isaac Newton in the 18th century. However, subatomic particles and quarks “live” with different mechanics and therefore behave differently than they should if they obeyed Classical Mechanics. After knowing this, it has already caught my attention to study more about it. And, when I read some articles and watch some videos, these subatomic particles and quarks live in a dimension of Quantum Mechanics. Somehow I am very fascinated by the fact that “they” behave differently. Quantum mechanics has been a spotlight for physicists as experiment after experiment has been conducted. The foundation of quantum mechanics was established during the first half of the 20th century by the name of Erwin Schrodinger, Max Planck, Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein were heavily involved in the foundation of quantum mechanics and leads to the new idea of ​​how nature works.When studying a lot about quantum mechanics, I began to realize that quantum mechanics also takes part in biological structures. Even in our generation of cells and genes, quantum mechanics plays an important role. This factor makes it more interesting for me to continue studying quantum mechanics, but this time I improvised my study of quantum mechanics and mainly related some of the biological phenomena that occur due to the principles of quantum mechanics. Although I continue to focus on quantum mechanics research, I also learned about some processes or phenomena in my biology class and from that I discovered that some of the phenomena and processes that take place in organisms such as plants, animals, and even humans they are carrying out activities related to subatomic particles that can be related to Quantum Mechanics. From this, I finally understand that even though Quantum Mechanics is the field of study of Physics full of theories and uncertainties, it also occurs in the uniqueness of biological beings like us. Literature Review A large part of my personal project is investigating both the two main factors of my project which are about Quantum Mechanics and Biology. At the beginning of my research, I just focus on reading related articles and watching video clips to increase my prior knowledge of both of these topics and the relationships between them. After further investigation and research, I began to realize that I lack information about Quantum Mechanics that I can fully understand based on my current level of learning. But it would prevent me from continuing my research. I also start to learn some new things closely related to quantum mechanics so that I can at least increase my recent knowledge about it. I take online courses on the Brilliant website and learn new things and gather new knowledge about something that is quite close to quantum mechanics. Criterion B: Planning Product/Outcome Specifications I will conduct an investigation and come out with a product. Since my project is purposely to provide my audience with a fundamental understanding of quantum biology, I planned to come out with a simple presentation that contains all thebasic knowledge on the relationships between quantum mechanics and biology. Also, since my latest product and outcome is a presentation, my presentation must be able to convey message and knowledge excellently. I created a mind map as a guideline for building my journal product. Before my presentation can become a good, "high quality" presentation, it must meet some criteria so that I can successfully achieve my goals with this product. I also need to have extensive knowledge on this topic so that I can provide all inputs to the public in good condition. There are some specifics that I have established to help me achieve my main goals. To successfully deliver information to my audience and ultimately achieve my goals, my product/result must match these specifications as shown below: Presentations must contain all the information and background knowledge that corresponds to quantum biology. The presentations are informative enough to bring understanding to beginners and audiences without any knowledge of the topic of this discussion. My presentation must be simple but full of information and also provided with a question and answer segment to provide maximum input to the audience during the presentation. Product Development Criteria/Outcome When creating my product, I must consider all the guidelines that I have determined to produce a good presentation. I also conduct collateral research on how to produce informative presentations and also how to present data and information in an interesting way. All of these actions can help me make a simple but informative presentation. Developing Planning in Product Making In the process of completing my product more easily, I have developed a planning that shows all the steps I need to take before I can finish my product in a fascinating way. This plan includes all the steps, from what information I need to investigate and add to my presentations to how to complete my product, report, and tweak my journal so my project can get a higher end level. I also improvised my plan several times to provide more detailed information on the implementation of this project. Criterion C: Take action, create my product After I finished improvising all the detailed plan, I started my work of creating my presentation. For the first attempt, I tried to use Canva website for my presentations as I know that I can add some creativity to my slide with the use of this website, but on the other side I encountered some difficulties, such as For example, since Canva is an online website, I need to have a stable internet connection to continue using it. So, I switched from using Canva, I started using the basic software to create my quantum biology presentation which is Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Even though the level of creativity is limited when using PowerPoint, I can still create informative presentations for my audience and they still fit within my guidelines and specifications that I have entered. In the presentations I include all the necessary information on quantum biology and update them as much as possible with information to offer my audience the maximum understanding of this type of relationship. From the introduction to the references I used, I tried to make it interesting and enjoyable. After finishing the presentation, I still tried to include some "wow" factors to make my presentations more interesting. Furthermore, to make the audience attractive during the presentation,I have prepared a way to make my presentation more engaging and interesting to listen to during the presentation. I tried to practice presenting with a clear voice and a new but effective way of presenting. I believe this is important to attract the audience's attention and this is also important because I want to provide this kind of complicated information, so I have to present it in an excellent way to make it happen. Criterion D: Reflection Evaluating my product I am very proud of myself after I finished my presentations. Even though it seems really simple, it is easy to access and is used for learning tools. My presentations are well organized and fit all the information on the main topic of quantum biology and the application on living organisms that I have researched throughout the period of the processes of carrying out this project. However, there are some weaknesses in my presentations. My presentations have a lack of creative input. I consider creativity not a priority because I want my presentation to be full of information and input to provide to the audience. By the way, after all the processes needed to achieve this successfully, I feel so satisfied with my work in a limited time that I can still finish it according to the guidelines and specifications I expected. But I still want to improve this product from time to time so that I can publish it on the Internet so that it can be used as a learning tool for others and allow more people to better understand the beauty and uniqueness of quantum biology. Reflections on knowledge and ideas From this project, I can reflect on how I can improvise my recent knowledge and how good I am at generating brilliant ideas to achieve an excellent result or product. At first, I just see that quantum biology is an interesting field of knowledge to discover in its fascinating theories and probabilities that fly around it. But after leading this project, it gave me a new insight into quantum biology, and to be honest, it is difficult and complex knowledge to discover and understand on my own. But I accepted this challenge and tried my best to overcome all obstacles to take up the whole concept of quantum biology and pass it on to others as well. After that, I realized that I also needed to come out with smooth execution to achieve my goal. objectives, which is how Quantum Mechanics and the very concept of Biology are related. I must present all the data and information that comes accurately from my research so that my audience can receive my information without errors. Ultimately, I encountered some difficulties in making a good presentation to increase the audience's understanding of the topic. It is difficult for me to make such simple but full of necessary information presentations. But then, I tried to overcome this problem by trying to filter the information that has priority to be present in this topic and make it the only information to be included in the presentations.
