The conflict I have chosen to write about is the War in Afghanistan. This war is both political and cultural. The war in Afghanistan originally began after the attack on September 11, 2001. The United States has been at war with Afghanistan and the Republic of Iraq for 13 years now, and we all understand why. It all started on September 11, 2001. The United States was targeted and then the World Trade Centers were destroyed through acts of coercion. Now, because of these attacks, we tend to be at war with the Taliban. These wars that we tend to worry about were thought to be easy and simple to accomplish what was needed for the mission. Apparently, our presence in the Republic of Iraq ends up attracting terrorists who simply wish to kill US troops. The war has drawn a lot of attention to the Taliban with the presence of our military on the field and this is demonstrated by the number of victims. Apparently, the war was powerful and not short, as expected. As a result, we have been fighting in the Middle East for over 10 years.
