In the field of emergency services, high job performance is of utmost importance. When the lives of both staff and the public are at stake, it is essential that work performance is the best it can be. One reason job performance increases under servant leadership is that a servant leader focuses on followers achieving their goals and potential. For a leader to be aware of their followers' goals and their potential, once again, they must establish a relationship of trust, as discussed above.
