Bush signed the USA PATRIOT Act to make, for the first time in America's history, a concrete change in who would come to this country. The Patriot Act was put in place in 2001 with the purpose of infiltrating the lives of Americans because according to the government they could no longer be trusted. The acronym USA PATRIOT Act is uniting and strengthening America by providing the proper tools needed to intercept and thwart terrorism (USA PATRIOT Act).
