Young athletes are endangered by the competition, aggression and intensity of sports. Every day kids are pushed to their limits by coaches, parents and fans. The intensity of sports has become so high that it causes physical and mental exhaustion. Sports like wrestling make kids eat differently to lose weight. Football players, baseball players and even cheerleaders have to train in extreme temperatures. Some kids involved in competitive sports have taken weightlifting and even just conditioning lessons. Young people are being put in harm's way because of how competitive, aggressive and intense youth sports have become. For example, young athletes are in danger. Young people are being pushed beyond their limits and working so hard that it is becoming dangerous. Kids everywhere struggling with what could become a mental or physical disability. Mitchell suggests: “They are negatively affecting a child's physical and mental well-being. Another danger for young athletes is the playing conditions. Coaches and parents expect the best whatever the weather. Bergron states that “young athletes must train or compete in challenging environmental conditions multiple times in the same day.” "Children's and young adults' scents are less effective than adults at regulating body temperature." Bergron adds. They are less tolerant and able to perform well in extreme climates. There are many dangers that young athletes forgo every day due to the intensity of youth sports. Furthermore, young athletes have become more aggressive. Children participating in competitive sports are becoming increasingly aggressive, and the sports themselves have become competitive. Mitchell reveals "characteristics such as bullying and the need to dominate one's opponents... middle of paper... the hard work paid off. Maybe they wouldn't have made it this far if it had been possible." it wasn't because of the hard motivation and training. They were pushed to the limits and that's what made them as great as they are now. Getting up after being hurt physically or mentally was hard to overcome giving up on their coaches. team, and fans would be more difficult. Intense sports are what got them to where they are now, it's what made them who they are. Real, intense sports can lead to real success more and more children are put in danger, more and more children become victims of bullying, and more and more children feel like they have just been mentally or physically drained. What will happen in the future if we raise this generation the way we started, even young athletes will be pushed to the limits and endangered by how intense youth sports have become.
