The economy, in most cases, is positively influenced by immigration. Many of the supposed negative impacts that immigration has on the economy have been proven to be major falsehoods in a number of cases and have actually proven to have been major economic benefactors that should be applauded rather than criticized. As stated previously, some of the fallacies that people have been led to believe about immigration and its negative effects on the U.S. economy are incorrect. Yes, there are some provisions that can arise from immigration, but they are minimal, and many of the claims that have been made are circumstances that are difficult to find in the economy. Beyond that, some of the concomitant effects brought by these immigrants are not accurate. An example of an inaccurate statement would be that immigrants take jobs from native-born citizens, when studies and an abundant amount of research have shown that immigrants have not taken any jobs away from native-born citizens, but have otherwise expanded the economy and its workforce and have even provided more job opportunities to the people of the United States.
