Topic > Professionalism in the Classroom - 1018

There are many key components to shaping a child's life and they could be better implemented through professionalism. I like to reflect on the video “Children See Children Do”, which clearly demonstrates that children imitate/learn verbal and non-verbal cues from adults. As a teacher, you need to be the best version of yourself every day in order to convey those actions. This not only affects the child's ethics, but also generates better behavior that influences parents' lives more positively outside of the classroom. This module taught me many different techniques when working with a misbehaving child. For example, I plan to use self-awareness in my classroom to maintain a positive tone and eliminate poor body language. I will also use breathing methods for the children and myself to create a well-rounded class. Professionalism plays such an important role in shaping our children's lives and deserves to be emphasized more, which in turn will create better learning.
