Euthanasia is defined as the act of assisting people with death in order to end their suffering, without the support of legal authority. There are two types of euthanasia that people consider: from an outsider's point of view, the person is not in the shoes of someone experiencing extreme pain, someone may consider it wrong, but in reality people "help the patient with death ” generally does the person a favor, because euthanasia is mentioned by the patient. “Passive euthanasia occurs when the patient dies because medical professionals do not do something necessary to keep the patient alive or when they stop doing something that keeps the patient alive.” (BBC, 2015) Examples include turning off life support machines, disconnecting a feeding tube, not having a “life-extending” operation, or not taking or giving life-extending drugs. The American Hospital Association says about 70% of deaths that occur in hospitals occur after a decision has been made to withhold treatment. “Active euthanasia occurs when medical professionals, or another individual, deliberately do something that causes the patient's death.” (BBC, 2015). Euthanasia is often considered wrong anyway, because when a person thinks about it, what is the real difference between stopping something holding someone back?
