Banksy's artwork is politically charged and stimulates your humanitarian side with just a glance. The three images we will see were painted on the Apartheid Wall in Israel. This wall separates the West Bank and Israel. Banksy opposes this wall because, as he states on his website, “The wall is illegal under international law and essentially turns Palestine into the largest open-air prison in the world.” Looking at these three images we get an idea of the larger message behind the art. These images are initially striking because they mix innocence and violence to demonstrate a point of universal peace and the way war affects people. The first image we see is of a dove with a bulletproof vest and a red sniper dot pointing towards him. Chest. This image has many meanings. The dove is a universal sign of peace. Banksy could use the dove to demonstrate that activists want peace between Israel and Palestine.
