Despite the fact that betrayal is not always associated with infidelity, it is noteworthy to point out that, given that betrayal is an act of treachery, the individual who committed betrayal was being unfaithful to some entity. Dante lists it as the final circle of Hell, suggesting that committing betrayal, and therefore infidelity, against any other being is the absolute worst action an individual could perform in their life.
