Edgar Allen Poe is a very influential writer with an interesting twist in his literary works. Many of them are known to be very dark and full of terror. Poe is best known for his poem "Raven". Here I have an analysis of "Annabel Lee" written by Edgar Allen Poe. This poem consists of 6 stanzas and a total of 41 lines from the first person point of view. A noticeable pattern in "Annabel Lee" is that it follows a short-long structure almost throughout the poem. The first stanza reminds me of the opening of a fairy tale, it says "It was many, many years ago, in a kingdom by the sea..." this idea is repeated in the 6 stanzas. Poe says that a "maiden" lived, this language tells us it says that in that kingdom lived a beautiful happy girl. The last line, (line 6), tells us that only love mattered to this young couple. A basic idea in these short 6 lines gives us a warm feeling d 'love because the author uses a happy tone.[Rhyme scheme: ababcb]The next stanza continues the story using warm and loving imagery...
