Italian work comparedItalian work and its remake have almost nothing to do with each other but they have something similar and they say this is why both films are about gold thefts. The problem is that the former is more Italian-oriented than the newer version. I'll talk about the first film first and then the remake. Okay, first it's more planning than practice. The plot is that the main character Charlie Croker, played by Michael Caine, has just been released from prison for stealing cars. But when he was in prison he befriended an inmate who was very rich and powerful and had many connections with people. And Charlie Croker was very close to the mafia but now word has spread that a huge shipment of gold has been moved to a bank in England, so they are looking for a way to get it and pull off the biggest heist of all time . What they do is find a way to create a huge traffic jam on a holiday which is when the gold is shipped. And they use mini coopers to move the gold because they think there's nothing that can get you through a smaller space and get you anywhere faster than a mini. So what they do is knock out all the guards and steal the van with the gold and move fast to put the gold bricks in the back of the minis because the mafia and the cops are right behind them and basically do crazy stunts and tricks that they can't do to escape, but that's basically how it is. Plus, the ending really makes you think about "what happens". Now, for the newer version, there's really some crazy, suspenseful stuff that you might not really understand if you don't watch the beginning because you won't understand what they're talking about. .....half of the card......make a deal with the leader but it was already paid by Charlie and in the end Steve was killed by the leader, the leader got his share and everyone got what they they wanted. Well, except Steve of course. But in conclusion I think both Italian Job films are good. But if I had to choose one, I would choose the newer version, unless you are the type of person who likes old mafia or gangster movies, over the first film. The acting was good in the first movie, but the disappointment was that they constantly played this annoying song that went on forever and wouldn't stop. But overall the sound was good. The remake was also good, they had excellent sound but that's what you would expect from a movie made in 2003. The soundtrack was good and they used a variety of songs instead of just one song. It also had an extremely good image.
