Human beings unconsciously search for an exciting place after becoming bored with their own. Humanity searches for an exciting place, whose satisfaction tank is no longer full due to the boring daily routine. In a sense you become so familiar with a place that you become part of that place, like walking the same route to work or home or seeing the same people doing the same thing every day. When talking about how people get too used to an environment, De Botton asks: “What would it cost someone who is out for a walk or crowding outside the theater to look up for a moment and admire the brilliant constellation shining above their heads? " (De Botton, 66.) People don't seem to appreciate what's in front of them, which in this case is above them. He or she becomes blind because they never bothered to look up.
