It's amazing how different cultures can be. In some places they have dogs and cats as pets, but in others these animals are used for food. But it is not food that is influenced by the culture around us, it also changes a lot by people's behavior. In some countries certain things are not said out loud, but in others they are. An example of this would be drugs. Some countries will allow citizens to possess marijuana while others refuse to let it enter their borders. Because each country's laws and government are different, people behave differently than they would in other places where such behavior is out of the question. Since the setting changes people and how they act, it is very important in stories to have a strong setting. There are two stories for which the setting is very important, The Man Who Sends Rainclouds and The Old Man of the Temple.
