The scale ranged from 0 to 10, where a score of 0 indicates no cultural competence and a score of 10 indicates cultural competence. My answers yielded a score of 5, meaning I am the midpoint between culturally incompetent and competent. I was shocked after completing this section of the quiz as, coming from my neighborhood in Sudbury, the only time I was surrounded by people from different cultures than mine was at school and there wasn't much cultural diversity near my life family. It was surprising for me to get such a higher score than I expected considering that even though we learned about cultures and religions in school, I certainly don't feel like I have a high enough level of expertise to teach people how to deal and behave with people of different cultures. Becoming friends with people from different cultural backgrounds has shown me how different cultures are from each other and made me respect people of any culture, but it hasn't given me all the pertinent details about their cultures that would be needed to help others to understand them for their cultural learning
