The exchange between the leader and his followers is the focal point of the theory. For Francois and his team, I think they are an example of in-group. Group theory places greater responsibility on followers for a better outcome. As the film approaches, the leader, François, gives the team more responsibilities and expects them to work as hard as they can. One scene where Francois shows great leadership is during the final against New Zealand. The Springboks are down at halfway and François brings the team together, making a speech to motivate the boys. I think motivation and support are key aspects of being a great leader, and Invictus really shows what a great captain and leader François is.
