Most people's lives are spent in school and it's the same for me. I have been in school almost all my life except the time I lay in a crib and cried for 3 years. I went to elementary school, middle school, high school and now I'm doing 4 years of university, maybe even more for the master's degree. Spending my life in school I was able to learn and see all different types of activities unfold right before my eyes. Just like in Ernesto Quinonez's Bodega Dreams, I've seen fights, distracted my teachers, and dealt with my fair share of great/horrible teachers. Most of the events I remember are from when I was in high school. I went to South Brunswick High School, which was a blue ribbon school but wasn't. One day a boy named Marcus was supposed to help him cheat on his math exam, but he didn't. Marcus gave Zain the wrong answers and only put the correct answers on his paper. Zain got really angry, found Marcus in the cafeteria and started beating him bloody. It knocked out Marcus' tooth and soaked his face in blood. The fight only stopped when the former military wrestling coach knocked him down. It was a truly shocking experience to see someone lose so much blood so quickly. Zain was expelled from school after that and no one ever heard of him. For every good there is a bad and even I had a bad teacher like Mr. Blessington. The teacher who was so mean was my math teacher, Mr. Drakes, he was very similar to Mr. Blessington, he was a rich man with a fancy degree from Brown University and had a large trust fund left for him. He always felt he was better than everyone around him. It seemed that teaching children was an act of charity for him rather than a respected and meaningful job to help children excel. He always discriminated against children and never helped them. I still don't understand why he would teach kids if he didn't care
