The Old Spice Meeting Advertisement advertises a new line of men's hair care. The setting of the commercial is in a meeting room where a presentation is taking place. There is only one woman in the meeting room. Everyone, except men and women, who have used Old Spice products pays attention to the person making the presentation. The male and female are flirting with each other. The man's hair attracts the woman's attention so much that he wins the woman's number. All Old Spice products are for men. However, this commercial attempts to persuade both men and women to purchase Old Spice products. Old Spice says that if a man uses their hair products he will get women's phone numbers, or at least his hair will look better. Looking deeper at the demographics this commercial is trying to reach, I don't think this commercial is advertised to everyone. But only to men with a certain hair structure. It can be argued that not all men have the same hair texture as the Old Spice man in the ad. For example, an individual with thinning hair would not achieve the same results as the man in the commercial. Furthermore, there are men in the world without hair too, so this advertisement does not apply to them at all. This advertisement also advertises to women. Most women want the men in their lives to look good. Old Spice tells women who see the commercial that they can have a man with phenomenal hair if they buy its hair products. Men who can use this product are not only limited to husbands and boyfriends, but also children and friends. Many girls may want to purchase the advertised products for their best friend who happens to be... middle of paper... a woman. This commercial won't appeal to everyone, but it does a phenomenal job of appealing to the demographic it's aimed at. The two main advertising techniques are association and promotion and they are both used very well in this TV commercial. Old Spice has certainly picked up a lot of new customers thanks to the airing of this ad.
