Topic > Opposing Views on Homosexuality - 628

Homosexuality is one of the most controversial issues in today's society. This practice was not acceptable long ago. Now, this is a common trend and people are learning to accept and deal with this problem. However, many people have different perspectives on this issue. Ellen Friedrichs and Trayce Hensen are two of many who have opposing views on homosexuality: whether a family must not include a mother and a father or a family must include a mother and a father. Ellen Friedrichs is the author of A Family Does Not Have to Include a Mother and a Father. She supports gays and lesbians, yet thinks she outshines heterosexuals in raising children. This makes children more likely to do better in school and would encounter fewer social problems. Friedrichs also believed that homosexual parenting took parenting more seriously than heterosexual parents; because it is more difficult for them to become parents. There is a lot of support for the different points he believes. Ellen Friedrichs had considerable support for her opinion that being raised by same-sex parents leads to over-schooling and encountering fewer social problems. For example, she interviewed Kellen Kaiser, who was raised by her biological mother's longtime partner. Friedrichs asks her some questions to understand how she was raised by two women as parents. Kaiser said he has gained a lot from exposure to many different but wonderful adults throughout his life. He made an important statement, related to Friedrich's opinion on same-sex parenting, which was: “I think gay parents are overall more intentional than the average heterosexual parent. Gay parents tend to reexamine and reform the between...... middle of paper...... studied over time. This father and mother raising a child has been the norm for so many years. For example, two men cannot teach a girl how to be a woman, and two women cannot teach a boy how to be a man. Because neither knows the qualities of being the other. Works Cited Hansen, Trayce.
