Topic > My Academic Journey - 1252

Not everyone who attends college takes advantage of the educational opportunities available as a student. One reason may be that they have not yet gained academic confidence or perceive education as a priority. Looking back on my adolescence, both of these perspectives manifested themselves through my behavior. Nonetheless, the last eight years of my life illustrate significant growth and development as an individual, family member, co-worker, and student – a journey that has brought me to this moment. Literally, right this minute! I now have the academic confidence to present an analysis of my life story and academic goals to a panel of scholars/professionals, which is undoubtedly a significant accomplishment. Therefore, learning more about the story of my life, as a child, teenager, soldier, and scholar, will allow each of you to understand the challenges and accomplishments I have experienced in reaching this point in my life. When I look back on my youth, the likelihood that I arrive at this moment would seem highly unlikely. Being born into a dysfunctional relationship, between my mother and father, initially shaped my communication behaviors throughout my childhood and adolescence. During the early stages of my life, I struggled with communication and reading comprehension, which made some aspects of school extremely challenging for me. On the other hand, I was considered exceptional in math and writing. My educational difficulties made it difficult for me to develop academic confidence during my youth. For this reason, during my childhood, school was more of a burden than an educational journey. After my parents decided that separation was the most important thing at RRCC. Additionally, I try to dedicate my time and energy to the tech club by sharing the cybersecurity, networking, and programming knowledge I have acquired so far with others. I have also recently taken on the Officer role in the Tech Club, as Project Coordinator, which is a step towards helping the club grow. Looking back at my life story, each of you can see my transformation from a troubled youth to a proactive scholar—a scholar who will continue to demonstrate a high level of motivation, dedication, and commitment to all intended educational and professional goals. If I am awarded a scholarship, I will continue on my path towards completing my short- and long-term educational goals, which will also help me ensure that my professional vision, as a cybersecurity specialist, becomes more than just imagination.
