Topic > The Dark Side of Leaders - 1449

Leaders are often described as heroes and champions, but there is also a dark side to being a leader. Adolph Hitler was one of the strongest leaders of the last 100 years, if not the strongest leader of all time. He was a man with the ability to lead a country, with a population of 20 million people, against the entire world in the vision he saw fit. He led Germany out of economic depression after going through the First World War. This is in fact what all leaders strive to be. Hitler is one of the best role models for inspiring leaders. He displayed some of the strongest qualities of being a leader, which included: vision, eloquence, charisma, strong will, and tyranny. Vision is a way in which someone imagines something. All leaders must have a vision. Hitler had one of the greatest, if immoral, visions of all time. His vision of wanting to eliminate from the world all Jews, gypsies, homosexuals and anyone else who didn't fit his definition of the perfect race. His search for the perfect race – the Aryan race – composed of blond-haired, blue-eyed Caucasians, combined with his vision to lead Germany to world domination, gave him purpose and the power to inspire others. Although he was unable to realize his vision, he fought for it until the end of his life. One of Hitler's most outstanding leadership qualities was his eloquence. Being eloquent means being fluent and persuasive in speaking. Hitler would stir up the German people with his fervent speeches. He knew how to appeal to people's basic instincts and made use of their fears and insecurities, making manipulation one of Hitler's greatest assets. Since he was able to get his audience passionate and zealous about his goals, they would follow him with regard to… middle of the paper… the good of Germany. Under his rule, he provided employment and stabilized the economy, helping Germany emerge from the economic depression that was plaguing the rest of the world. However, I understand that most people on this planet would say that Hitler was a horrible human being. Many people don't want to acknowledge that he was a great leader because he did horrible things and they may not agree that he was a great leader because he led Germany to another loss, but this was inevitable because a man and a country can not oppose the world and hope to win. However, Hitler exemplified the qualities necessary for a strong leader such as having a vision, being eloquent, charismatic, tyrannical, and strong-willed. Hitler was one of the greatest leaders of all time and should be a role model for future leaders who wish to improve the world.
