Topic > that magical moment, a moment that leaves you speechless and indescribable feelings. A couple of seconds where your heart beats faster and faster and you can't stop the excitement, the happiness, the butterflies. It sounds like it was just lifted from a love song, right? The truth is that love songs influence young culture on how love should be felt and create this stereotype that love is nothing more than a moment full of passion and desires. But the reality is that this is not always the case and these songs create unrealistic measures such as, a passionate moment or falling in love purely through physical attraction; and if you don't reach that moment or are not attracted in that instant then you are not in love. There is no exact definition of love in the dictionary as it varies from person to person and each person has their own definition; but many people would agree that love is essential in a relationship and an important component. For example, for a person, love can be someone who makes them comfortable or safe by having the same level of education, culture or religion as them. These love songs instead promote a lust-filled “puppy love” and a stress-free environment, which is obviously not realistic in a relationship. I chose three songs by Taylor Swift, genre: country/pop, award-winning certified country/pop artist. “Today was a fairytale,” illustrates a perfect date and shows young love; "Crazier", describes a girl's feelings towards a boy and how he inspires her to be herself; "The way I loved you", the girl thinks back to when the relationship had problems but seemed "real", now everything for her needs to be "perfected" and she misses the dysfunctional component of the relationship...... medium paper ...true when in reality this love is not reachable. These songs don't describe love, they describe a moment and feelings of attraction that have been hyped by the media to make easy money by targeting young girls to believe this frenzy that is clearly unbelievable. However, “The Way I Loved You” is realistic and shows that there will always be problems in a relationship. Once everything seems too “perfect,” the relationship no longer has the drive to overcome obstacles and simply doesn't feel real. This song influences girls in the right way by showing the true aspects of a relationship, such as identifying whether you love the other person's personality and attitude. Not just their physical appearance, which is just a minor component of a relationship made up of two human beings with their own complex ideals and beliefs.
