Topic > Students and teachers: differences and similarities

Although I personally believe that students and teachers are more different than similar (and yes, I can say this because I work as a teacher), I know that they share some qualities. Accordingly, I would like to share with you my knowledge of the specific characteristics of teachers, the specific traits of students, and the things they share. First, teachers need to plan. Everyday. They have to be super organised; their workspace cannot be a big pigsty, otherwise they will never be able to evaluate students' work on time and do their own work correctly. They are completely responsible for everything, so they have the stress of being responsible if and/or when their students fail; you know, like in Harry Potter the teachers are super stressed about the students' OWLs during Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts. Teachers also get paid for their work, unless they are volunteers, in which case I personally don't consider them teachers. They have more responsibilities than students in general, but it is much more fun and rewarding to be a teacher; this, in part, is a consequence of the person's decision to be a teacher and the opportunity to teach only what he or she wants. I believe this is the main difference between teachers and students (especially high school students): teachers made the choice to be teachers, the choice to teach whatever subject they wanted, the choice to work in whatever school they wanted, the choice to choice to teach full time, the choice to stay in school all day. Circumstances always seem better when you choose them for yourself. Being responsible for your actions is different from doing something you are forced to do, just as playing a sport is different from taking a nap. These are some things that make teachers and students differ a lot... middle of paper ......ga student). They both have homework. Both practically live in the classroom. They are both involved in school clubs, sports and other high school activities. They all have families who count on them to do their part and be there when needed. Despite all the differences between teachers and students, there are some similarities. I would like to conclude by saying that although there are some obvious similarities between students and teachers, there are more differences. I have presented only some of these similarities and differences. If you are interested in this topic, I encourage you to take on the role of a student and research this area further (even if this would be unstudent-like in the aspect of receiving a job rather than choosing to do so); you can even write an entire article about it if you want. Thank you for your consideration.
