Is an individual's opinion more important than general consensus? Everyone agreed on one issue in society: it would benefit the majority of people. Above all, collectivism pushes society to contribute to the common good. People could be further altruistic and subsidiary towards others. In contrast, individualism only encourages self-encouragement and divides society. Collectivism conveys the value of the whole and binds society more closely. To counteract the social corruption and false abundance of greed that an individualistic society would establish, collectivism should be valued above individualism. Within a collectivistic society, individuals support each other. No one is abandoned while others move on in their lives; everyone would be united as one.
