Introduction: My name is Lyman Beecher. I was born in New Haven, Counnecticut, October 12, 1775. In 1793 I attended Yale for a formal education. My notable accomplishments include serving as a Presbyterian minister, serving in the First Church in Litchfield, CT, and applying to be professor and chair of theology at Lane Seminary. I am particularly known for being a successful revivalist, and my ideas are ones that many Americans can connect and relate to.
