It is actually one of the hardest things two people will face together. Trying to rebuild trust is like trying to put toothpaste back in the tube. It can be done, but it takes time, effort and attention. Many people assume that because someone has trusted them before, it won't be difficult and it won't take long to rebuild that trust. The opposite is true. Building trust to begin with takes time and you can't rebuild 8 months of trust in less than a month. It takes just as long, if not longer, to rebuild broken trust. Rebuilding trust is not a destination. It's not a place where you can find a shortcut, because rebuilding trust is the journey. And there is nothing that can replace it
