Alexie has a strong feeling that every Indian wears and has a red shirt. In a world outside of Alexie's writing, individuals are judged and ranked based on what dress code they have. For example, when an individual wears pants below the back, the first assumption is that he or she is rebellious and has been to prison. This is how this world has evolved. Dress code can define an individual and Alexie describes Indians as always wearing a red dress
