I believe the death penalty is a cruel and unusual punishment, but it depends on the crime committed. Take the crime of Richard Ramirez or also called “The Night Stalker”. Richard Ramirez killed 13 men and women, he shot, stabbed and strangled all 13 victims, many also think he killed a nine year old child.8 This kind of person, in my opinion, should be executed because he kills 13 people for no reason they are wrong. However, suppose that if someone killed one to five people, that person should be put in prison for life without parole. This allows this person to deal with the guilt of what they have done for the rest of their life. I feel like this would teach people that what you do is wrong, no matter how you do it or how many people you
