My grandfather, despite moving around a lot as a child, grew up quite well. He has lived in California, Texas, Wisconsin and many other states. He traveled to many places due to his early career. Grandfather was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He lived there for the first three months of his life. He then moved to Texas where he lived in the suburbs of Dallas. He then moved to California and returned to Texas to live with his grandparents for times when his mother couldn't let him stay with her. His mother married a man named John and they moved to New Mexico. There he lived on a ranch that his stepfather was building, and he rode horses a lot. His job was to clear trees to build buildings, and he took care of the horses. Afterwards he did housework. He moved from New Mexico after John was killed by lightning. They lived in the poor part of town. The thing he remembers most about his mother is that she was a free spirit. His father left when he was three because he couldn't care for anyone, not even himself. He remembered that John told a lot of fantastic stories; something grandpa often does. His first school was in California and was a two-room school. He had to walk home and there were water snakes in the sewer. Once, when he returned home, his favorite toy, the refrigerator handle, was missing. Then he noticed that the two trees that were in front of the house were no longer there. Did you call the police. When the police arrived, the babysitter was there and said the owner had taken the trees away. When the police officer discovered that only one doorknob was missing, he lectured my grandfather about only calling the police in an emergency. He never found the handle. My grandfather especially liked choir and hated the rest of the lessons. He remembers something Mr. Banks, the math teacher, told him. “Well Ronnie, it's just a little too little and a little too late.” He is the proudest to have graduated after twenty years. He regrets not having a teacher who talked to him about the importance of education. When he was in middle school, his favorite thing to do with his friends wasn't go to school. His best friend was Eddie Boucher. She met him in elementary school. He would go to Eddy's house on the weekends, because they had good food.
