Direct bullying consists of physical confrontations, threatening and intimidating gestures. There are also levels of bullying including mild, moderate and severe. Some mild examples include threatening with a weapon and inflicting bodily harm. A mild physical bullying altercation might consist of pushing, shoving, and spitting. These are issues that a teacher may have to deal with in the future, he or she must always be ready in case of a bullying situation. People may wonder where bullying occurs the most. It happens when children are unsupervised, such as when they are in and out of school. Another major place where bullying occurs is during recess on playgrounds. In high schools, bullying usually takes place in classrooms or hallways. We know for a fact that bullying happens mostly at school. Bullying and students academics have a direct correlation, if bullying stops it will bring better grades among students and bring a better learning environment. Bullying is a negative phenomenon that has only negative side effects on both the bullies and the victim. First we need to understand the characteristics of both of these individuals. Bullies and victims have some similarities: both suffer from symptoms of depression, experience suicidal thoughts, both suffer from psychiatric problems, and both come from difficult environments. Bullies are more likely to commit criminal acts, ... middle of paper ... is taken because of the worries and anxiety that come with bullying. Our top priority should be to fix this problem. Bullying can be a huge problem that can affect the whole school if we don't deal with it. An important issue we need to address is the role of bystanders. These people watch these bullies carry out their horrible actions and do not approach them and explain to them that the actions they are doing are wrong. We understand that this takes a lot of courage, but we need to build a society where this is a common act to do. We need to let them know that they are doing the same harm to the victim if they don't act and sit back and watch. In the near future we hope to see many new plans to help stop this act. It is important to consider this issue as a top priority because we can save many children from difficulties and also have a good effect on many students' grades
