Topic > The Night Against Life is Beautiful - 686

In life many people face many of the same challenges and have a different story to tell about the same event. Two types of stories have emerged in the world. One of them is the book, Night, by Elie Wiesel, and the other is the movie, Life is Beautiful, and both stories come from a person who lived through the Holocaust. Night is about a twelve-year-old boy who goes through the Auschwitz camp and in Life is Beautiful it's about a boy who also goes through the camp. The film, Life is Beautiful, and the book, Night, by Elie Wiesel, are similar in hope and plot, but are different in the ending and tone used. Both Night and Life is Beautiful contain hope throughout the story. In Night much of the hope came from having Elie and his father together for most of the camp. Similarly, in Life is Beautiful, both the father and son were together in the camp and were the main reason to keep going and not go crazy. In addition to the affection the family had, music also had a lot to do with hope. After Elie had run through the snow for many, many miles, he and others were placed in shacks squeezed together. During this time when people were dying on top of each other, Juliek managed to sneak out and play Beethoven on the violin and gave men hope through music. In Life is Beautiful, music was also used to gain hope. While Guido was serving, during dinner, he put on music to a song that was his and his wife's song. He opened the window and pointed the record player's speaker outward so his wife could hear the song and find hope. Both of these people found hope in things that meant a lot to them and pushed them to move forward. Both stories follow the same thread... at the heart of the card... giving him the humanity and encouragement to not give up. On the other hand in Night, Elie loses his humanity and doesn't show his feelings. He wouldn't even cry if he saw people being killed. Comparing both of these stories side by side shows a drastic difference between happiness and depression. Both Night and Life is Beautiful were about the Holocaust; they also concern the management of difficulties. The similarities and differences show the different ways people went through this difficult time and how they should have dealt with it. It shows that many people may be going through the same thing, but it's their perspective on the situation that ultimately makes a big difference. Both Night and Life is Beautiful have the same message in terms of hope and plot aspect, but it's a different story because of the actual ending of the story and how people acted throughout it..
