The Awakening, a well-known book by Kate Chopin, written about a lady during the “Awakening”, when so much chaos and trouble reigned in the streets of the city. The protagonist of the book is Edna Pontellier. Throughout the book, Edna had many dilemmas in her personal life and, beforehand, she had her life in chaos along with society affecting her as well. 19th century America was a whole new generation coming to a new generation creating new ideas and then showing them off, which the public understood they had as much right to do as anyone else. This created a radical change and complemented various social influences and generally affected other government groups as well. “The Awakening” in American society brought several changes in the roles of women in social purposes, generally creating a strong impact of political, economic and social changes that curve towards the pleasure of the public, creating a new era of the identity of the States United. In the late 1800s, American society was in complete chaos. Currently, after the Civil War, many other societies created with the women's movement were created. During this time, women created many problems in the family now that they had power. This was shown in the book when women divorced their husband and took control of his independence. The ideas in the books were relatively accurate because they showed the power women had over men and the ability to maintain independence and actually be able to live on her own. The Awakening was published in 1899. This book was reviewed by several leading editors and they considered it to be a book of excellent historical accuracy. The "Awakening" showed the concept of many political ideas through the life of the... paper medium ......and able to show the wealth that this city was able to bear by showing several economic advantages. The most important part of the story was the social aspect of the city and the appeal of the common man. For the first, Edna Pontellier was described as "independent and solitary". In this new generation, people were seen rebelling against the previous generation. In a way, this novel almost exactly parallels the social system shown in The Great Gastby. Many women in this novel were still seen as “Victorian” in style, but many wanted their full rights and independence alongside men. Often in previous eras, men were expected to be "the man" and show their affections in their own way and be open to women. However, several times in this film, Edna was seen as the one who took her own course of action, waiting for the man she loved to show his expressions towards her..
