There are many factors that prevent people from receiving adequate health care. Most people still do not seek healthcare even when they need it. Many problems and barriers have formed with the people due to some issues that are simply not handled by the federal or local governments. However, in most cases, some of the problems concern the individual who requires the healthcare. Many people suffer financially, so people who have health problems wait until their disease becomes incurable. Insurance companies also need copayments for medicines that are administered to patients and people in need of treatment. Finances have become one of the major issues in healthcare today. Most Americans, if they do not receive health care through their employer, will not obtain health care on their own due to the costs of health insurance. Another problem with healthcare concerns those who have language barriers, most people who do not speak English fluently or at all, have a lot of difficulty getting adequate care, so most remain dissatisfied and leave without any care to avoid the hassle and boredom of trying to understand and gain understanding from the health care professional administering the care. Additionally, many language barriers on prescription labels cause confusion in taking medications or following treatment plans correctly. America's geography and rural areas have posed a problem in receiving adequate care. “A quarter of the US population lives in rural areas” (Sylvan, 2013). Compared to urban areas, rural occupants have a much higher rate of poverty, including a greater number of elderly people with resulting health problems and people who have difficulty reaching health services. Primary care is directly concerned…at the heart of the paper…that problems occur. Proper nutrition and daily exercise can help solve the problem in the long term, however some diseases are simply unavoidable and unavoidable, so we, just like doctors, are all caught in a “catch 22”.
