The never-ending war against drugs has ruined the mentality of today's society. Every year the government enforces new drug laws. Millions of taxpayer dollars are spent on these issues every year. Prisons are overcrowded with people for drug possession. This controversial topic brings up the real question: did these laws accomplish anything? One of the main anti-legalization arguments is the morality of legalizing drugs. They argue that the government should help people and make their lives easier. They argue that the government should protect people from the evils of drug addiction. The premises of this argument are questionable. Restricting drugs completely will not solve the problem of drug addiction; it will only make things worse.
