The environment in which businesses operate in today's world is becoming increasingly complex and challenging. This complexity creates problems but also creates a number of opportunities to develop decision support systems to simplify these complexities. In this globalized and dynamic world, decision makers are regularly looking for ways to develop capabilities to decide better and faster. DSSs serve the management, operations and planning levels of an organization and help make decisions, which can change rapidly and are not easily specified in advance (unstructured and semi-structured decision problems).
