When asked what their perception of OFWs was as children, the current OFWs all responded with one certainty: OFWs there is a better chance for you to live a life that it is above the standard living status in our country. But keep in mind that being an OFW is not a guarantee for a person to become rich and successful. But at least most OFWs find a better life working abroad and provide abundantly for their family's needs... From the interviews it was understood that the OFW is “a person who is willing to sacrifice himself for a while” (Almira) but is openly aware that the OFW needs to “support the family's financial needs and extend help to others who I'm in need”
