Topic > Art lessons should be mandatory for schools. - 875

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once you grow up." -Pablo Picasso. This quote is pretty simple. He says that all children are artists and that as they grow older they are no longer artists. A child's drawing can say a lot about what he thinks and feels about his surroundings. They see things differently than adults and teenagers because when they draw or make some kind of art they are not told that it is a "bad picture" or that whatever they are doing is "not right". They have no limits to their thoughts and ideas, but when they grow, they do. From the first day of school they are taught the wrong and right things. As we get older, there are more classes that have right and wrong answers to questions such as math. We learn to follow the steps, use the formula and get the right answer, but because of these lessons we forget about the arts. If the arts are forgotten, the way students express what they feel is taken away. This brings more pressure on students in classes like math, physics, geography, etc. That's why schools should make art classes mandatory because art classes help students develop their artistic and creative abilities, make them better students, and encourage them to find other ways of expressing their thoughts. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has ordered a test to be carried out to verify the ability to think in "divergent or non-linear ways" between the ages of 3 and 25. On 1,600 children aged three to five years it showed that 98% of them can think divergently. Of the same number of children aged between eight and ten, 32% might think divergently. When the same test was applied to children aged 13 to 15, 10% might think differently. Then, when we were the test... halfway through the paper... they found other ways to express their thoughts. Art classes are important and should be essential in our society. Being artistic and creative can help students be who they are and stand out. It can help them use their knowledge and come up with amazing ideas to make big changes in the world, and it can also keep students away from bad things and be better human beings by doing what they are interested in.
