Fox News announced on April 6, 2014 "Authorities arrest about 100 people as Southern California college party turns into brawl." The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office of the beach community of Isla Vista took over what apparently began as the annual spring break party; known as Deltopia in Southern California, went from a nonviolent gathering to a street fight around 9:30 pm on Saturday. An angry crowd of 15,000 people used stones, bricks and bottles as weapons against the order established by the authority. An out-of-control crowd began lighting fires; as well as causing the destruction of law enforcement vehicles. Seized video recordings revealed people smashing stop signs, swaying cars and breaking windows. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Oxnard Police Department and the California Highway Patrol's Ventura office were among the local agencies that responded to the scene to provide assistance.
