Topic > Environmental Issues - 1194

The topics: energy, agriculture, pollution and climate change, biodiversity, and various random environmental inconsistencies raise some of the most crucial concerns of environmental issues today. There are so many things happening in today's world that revolve around environmental concerns and the information in newspapers is a great information tool to inform the economy about what is happening around them and possibly what they can do to help. Environmental issues associated with the development and use of oil, gas, nuclear energy, electricity, and wind/solar energy fall under the "Energy" category. Energy is one of the most important issues there is, as energy is what makes the world function and act productively/efficiently. The absence of gas, oil or electricity would bring the world to a standstill and leave us stuck in the past, technologically speaking, because these energy resources are necessary for production, transportation and to keep the world alive. Analyzing all the articles that revolve around energy issues, I would say that most are directly related to energy policy. Between British energy concerns, OPEC debates over oil production, and random donations from the Texas Energy company, it's hard to say who to trust when it comes to energy concerns. Nowadays many companies seem to be involved in fraud or bankruptcy and trust is possessed by very few companies as not many can be trusted with money or decisive action. Furthermore, occasional increases in the prices of oil and other energy resources are too common as countries accumulate environmental resources in an attempt to make profits through controlled lean sales. Agriculture is also among the major concerns of the world. Agric... middle of the paper... Dia's portrayal of environmental issues was fantastic, as they covered all areas, told great stories and really knew what they were writing about, with no biases for me to interpret. The New York Times was the most substantial news source as they had articles for everything and very detailed, while the Democrat and the Chronicle had almost nothing on their website and it was quite a task to find anything on any topic. I believe this is because the New York Times is a much larger newspaper than the Democrat and Chronicle. I learned so much by engaging in this assignment. I had never analyzed newspaper articles so much and discovered such a wide range of information revolving around environmental issues. It's amazing how many worries there are in today's world and how much more could be done to help, if only everyone realized that.
