One of my favorite bands of all time is Nirvana, because it was the first rock band I started listening to at the age of twelve and that established my musical taste until Nowadays. However, they also had a major influence on the contemporary pop-rock music industry in the early nineties. Despite releasing only three studio albums in seven years, Nirvana is often considered one of the most influential, effective and notable rock bands of the century. This Seattle trio burst into public consciousness in 1991 with the single "Smells." Like Teen Spirit” full of pure and raw emotions, which was new for those times. Nirvana was formed by singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. During their career, they had six drummers. Dave Grohl, who joined the band in 1990, was the longest-serving. They released their first album Bleach in 1989; thus they established themselves as part of the Seattle grunge scene. They often used quiet verses with heavy, very loud choruses, and these dynamic contrasts became Nirvana's signature sound. As I mentioned before, complete popularity and success came after they released the first single, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from their second album Nevermind. Singer Kurt Cobain said that the reason he wrote this song was that he felt "disgusted by the apathy of my generation, and by my own apathy and spinelessness." Krist Novoselic also added, "Kurt really despised the mainstream. That's what 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' was about: the mass mentality of conformity." Kurt Cobain soon realized that in the media he was considered the "spokesman of a generation". and the band was often called the "flagship band of... half the newspaper... taken to hospital due to overdose. The bad news reached her at the rehabilitation center. Kurt Cobain's body was found by an electrician visiting a few days after the suicide. At first, the worker thought he saw a mannequin on the floor until he recognized the blood of Kurt Cobain lying on the floor, the rifle still pointed at his chin farewell letter addressed to his wife and one and a half year old daughter. The note ended with the words "I love you, I love you." Two days later, about 5,000 people arrived in Seattle for a candlelight vigil sang and listened to the tape where Courtney Love read the farewell letter aloud, and due to anger, they argued with the police. They were very desperate about this unfortunate event, several troubled teenagers in the United States and Australia committed suicide.
