Topic > Technology in Public Administration - 1598

In the arena of public administration there are many challenges that an organization will face to achieve its business objectives. Most of these challenges will come from the ability to adapt to the advancement of technology and adapt to changes as they arise. Because unlike anything else in the world, business technologies can make or break a business. If a company is unable or refuses to adapt and change, it will cease to exist. Technology is fast paced and won't slow down for anyone to catch up. For a job seeker in the 1980s before the Internet, a person will fill out a well-dressed resume and hand in a hard copy to also have an interview on the same day. Because of technology, today's youth fill out resumes on their computers. They then send it as an attachment to an email to the HR of the facility where they would like to work and wait for a response if they are selected. The world of public administration will change to become more efficient for PA and in the near future people may have to compete with robots that will replace people in the future. During the colonial period the political order was replaced by an emerging industrial market in which people believed that position could not be achieved but inherited by wealth. So, if a person was very rich, then he had power and position in public service. But Andrew Jackson believed that public service should be open to anyone in society and that wealth did not determine position in the federal government since government jobs did not require experience. This form of public administration is not efficient because the people hired would be corrupt because they are not qualified... half the paper... of the jobs. References ABC News. (2103, June 13).
