Technology Business Opportunities for Homeschooling Over the last decade the government has attempted to fix public school systems in different ways, but has been unsuccessful. Through the implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act, the government seeks to establish a national standard to ensure that every student receives the same level of education. The law came into force more than a decade ago and has shown little progress. President Bush established the law, but the current presidential administration has lost sight of the law. Through the use of video teleconferencing and podcasts, homeschooling can become a standardized program that has been proven to be effective through statistics. The business opportunity can improve education to the quality level of a private school but at a more affordable price than public school. Technology Technology has made tremendous progress in the last decade. Global growth in Internet access: from 250 million Internet users worldwide ten years ago to 2.08 billion Internet users in 2011. Currently, Internet video represents 40% of all consumer Internet traffic and will reach 62% by the end of 2015. The sum of all forms of video (TV, video on demand [VoD], Internet and peer-to-peer [P2P] communications) will continue to represent approximately 90% of global video traffic consumers by 2015. There is no doubt that technology is a major contributor to change in the education landscape. EducationEducation has made great strides from blackboards to smart boards, from hardcover books to eBooks, and from word processors to the iPad. The goal of educators is to provide better opportunities for individuals and enable them to improve themselves. Knowledge is power when applied.
