Globalization, or outsourcing, has been a drag on the American economy for much of the past twenty years. Outsourcing has cost millions of U.S. jobs over the past two decades and continues to create problems for U.S. families. Outsourcing is a drag on the American economy and will create a lasting effect on today's college graduates and younger children. Although outsourcing is harmful to the American economy, it has been a growth driver for the economies of countries like India. However, India has a social caste system. The caste system determines what social class one is born into and that person must remain in that social class throughout their life. Therefore, that country's economy would be better, but it would only help the rich get even richer and the politicians would have a stronger effect on the poorer classes. JOBS Job growth is at an all-time low, and it's because of the wages Americans must have to survive in the United States. The largest companies in the United States are finding that there are equally skilled workers in other countries who don't demand the same pay. The article Vanishing Jobs states, “Nationwide, layoffs are eliminating jobs far beyond blue-collar workers…in the ever-shrinking manufacturing sector” (Katel). This quote interprets the idea that businesses will do anything to achieve greater profits by reducing costs. Most politicians say the problem behind job losses in the United States is due to a lack of education. This is true up to a certain point; however, the evidence provides information to conclude that it is mostly college graduates who lose their jobs due to the higher salary obtained from the degree......middle of paper......ect in college graduates and younger kids of today. Outsourcing has created nothing but problems for the United States with the approval of free trade agreements. This will cause a lack of jobs that will wreck the economy and ruin the lives of US citizens. All this so that a company can use its bad practices to make a bigger profit. Outsourcing has consequences that will haunt the average American and their families for the rest of their existence on this planet. Works Cited Katel, Peter. "Jobs in danger of extinction."
